Experian’s New Extended Consumer Default Index (CDIx)

Coming 14 September 2022

The quarterly Experian Consumer Default Index (CDI) was designed to measure the rolling default behaviour of South African consumers, a view on the latest industry trends, and a commentary on the context within which these trends are observed.

Experian’s new CDIx report expands on the original CDI by including views on the latest:

Macro-economic trends that have a direct bearing on consumers
Market appetite for credit
Qualification and take-up of credit – acceptance rates
Performance of credit consumers (i.e., arrears, defaults and vintages)
