Our first Telco specific research, conducted on behalf of Experian by Forrester Consulting, engaged nearly 270 C-level and senior executives and Directors across Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Netherlands and Turkey in August 2021. The objective was to gain a view to better understanding the impacts of the pandemic on post-paid businesses.

This brief overview outlines the current contexts facing Telcos in EMEA and which are collectively making it critical for Telcos to find the optimum balance between revenue, costs and losses.

The business metrics taken from across all 7 countries show growing revenue and ARPU amongst many Telcos, but these are counter balanced by worsening or static costs, losses and churn.

The research has revealed that business priorities reflect three strategic themes – revenue growth, digital transformation (of both customer experience and of operational processes) and enhanced risk decisioning. Data, advanced analytics and machine learning have a key role to play in acting as an accelerator of these strategies.
